I have just realised that this was posted nearly a year ago - before I found the Cute family!!!!
Sue this has been tremendously successful on the balsa wood. I have used this design on cards and have also been delighted with the results. I just love your cherry frame - sets the whole thing off beautifully. Thank you for sharing this unusual project. Sarah.
I love it thanks, I would love to try sewing on wood but worry about my machine.

Sue, you have outdone your self on this one....do you expect us to top this in the challenge for the month....??? fantastic job...thanks for showing off your work...
Great job. What size and type needle do you use for this and for cards, please?
Normal embroidery needle like for card. It will blunt it so don't use a new one!
Most excellent!!!Carolyn What is balsa wood & were do you buy it??
It is actually a "hardwood" even though it is soft! It comes in lengths 4 inches wide and 1/16th inch thick from a model making shop. It is used for making model aeroplanes. You can stitch on it like you can on card. Simple running stitch designs like this one are about the limit.
This is beautiful: I have never seen this done. You did a great job sue.

Sue , This is beautiful . I haven't tried balsa wood, but this makes me want to .* Nancy
It looks lovely in the frame. Can hardly believe I digitised this! Thanks for showing. And I'll think about making more low density designs.
