I know I posted the rag quilt that the quilting group made for the Victorian Bush fire appeal and yes I did do a lot of the sewing on that..... but this quilt is my first real quilt made completely by me. Pauline (Nonna57) went with me to buy the materials (but the choices were mine) and she also helped me select the best batting to use.The designs are all from Barbara Love's Embroidery group and were stitched on my ELna Xquisit and Designer Diamond machines. They are 5 x 7 designs with the finished blocks being 8". The finished quilt size is 42" by 62" and it is going to be a special gift for my brother and his wife. Obviously I didn't win the contest, I never really expected to, but I did get one vote besides my own and that really made me exstatic. :-) Thanks for peeking. Hugs n roses to all, Meganne

Oh Meg, I love, love, love this quilt!!! What a wonderful gift - they will love it as well!!! You did a "first rate" job!!!! 4U* Hugs, Laura

Meganne this is beautifull !!! I wondered which one was yours, and this particular one was so lovely, because of the lovely chistmas colours you used. I particularly liked the fine red around the edge. I am waiting for the next quilt blocks (men), and will give it a good go. Congratulations on a job well done. Hugs and God bless Marietta

Meg - this beautiful and quite an accomplishment to have done. I did not even get mine started, so you are a winner regardless. Job Well Done!

It's beautiful, well done.

Beautiful, Meganne!! I'm glad you told the sizes of the designs and blocks, because I have some blocks I want to make, and wondered if 5x7 designs would work up large enough. I'm just not into fiddly little 3" squares, hee hee hee, unless they're made with strips and then cut. Your quilt worked up beautifully, that's just the size I'm looking for! I'm sure your brother and his wife will just love it, especially since you made it all by yourself! Hugs, Marji

WOW, what a great quilt. I bet your brother and his wife will love it. It is gorgeous. *4u Lynn

The quilt is wonderful, congratulations Meg.

I love it Meg! I think you did a great job! I also noticed something else in the picture... You have a whole head full of beautiful hair! The last time I saw a picture it was fine baby fuss. It sure didn't take it long to grow back in and it is so pretty! In this picture, you could pass as a twin to my lifetime best friend. well, except for one thing, she is only 5'1". I wish I could send you a picture of her but I do not have a recent one. You really could pass for twins! Glenda is a genius on a sewing machine and does beautiful hand embroidery but does not have an embroidery machine. We are total opposites but love each other like sisters! She is 1 day older than I am. She was born on Christmas Day! I wish she could see this Christmas Quilt. She loves quilts. Thanks for sharing with us!

by meganne 20 days agoThanks so much Linda, I'm only 5'2". I love sewing, there's nothing more rewarding than turning watching a piece of fabric evolve into a garment. It still gives me a buzz after all these years.

Your brother and wife will love it. You have done a fantastic job with it. Hugs mary

Meg it is gorgeous. If you had the cuties voting you would have won for sure. Keep up the wonderful work now you will have to start quilting more. From experience both are addicting. Now instead of a thread stash you will have a fabric stash. LOL or has it already started. thanks for sharing. Hugs Lisa

Megganne, your quilt is beautiful. Your Brother and Sister-in-Law will love. I just love to make quilts. I like to have someone else with me when I buy fabric for a quilt. I don't have any trouble making a quilt but just don't like to pick out the fabric.
